Bahrain is a regional financial and commercial hub, and its legal market in Manama is built around private law firms, in-house legal and compliance teams at banks and financial institutions, the Ministry of Justice and Public Prosecution, and international firms serving cross-border work. Bahraini lawyers practise under the single title of 'Advocate'. The profession is regulated by the Ministry of Justice through the Roll of Lawyers, governed by Decree-Law No. 26 of 1980 (the Advocacy Law, as amended).

Becoming a lawyer in Bahrain

Hold a Bachelor of Law from a recognised university, be a Bahraini national of full civil capacity and good conduct, then complete the required training/practice period recognised by the Ministry of Justice (at least two years of legal experience for direct entry to the practising roll).
