How do I become a lawyer in Bahrain?

To become a lawyer in Bahrain, you first earn a Bachelor of Law from a recognised university; registration to practise generally requires Bahraini nationality, full civil capacity, and good conduct. After graduating you complete a training/practice period recognised by the Ministry of Justice (candidates without articled-clerk training must show at least two years of legal experience). You are then registered in the Roll of Lawyers maintained by the Ministry of Justice, which keeps separate registers (practising lawyers, trainees, and non-active), graduated by the courts before which you may appear, up to the Court of Cassation. Bahraini lawyers practise under the single title 'Advocate', and the profession is governed by Decree-Law No. 26 of 1980 (with reform proposals under discussion).
