The Price You See Is the Price You Pay

No surprise charges at checkout. No fee to apply. No hidden tax. Here is exactly how LegalAlphabet treats the people looking for legal work, and why we built it that way.

On this page

You know the small, deflating moment at the end of almost any online checkout. The price was one number the whole way through, and then on the final screen a few more dollars quietly appear. Tax. A service fee. A processing charge. The thing you agreed to buy ends up costing more than the thing you were shown. We decided LegalAlphabet would not do that to the people looking for legal work.

The price you see is the price you pay

Our membership is $19 a month. Not $19 plus tax. Not $19 plus a fee. We turned on tax-inclusive pricing with our payment provider, which means any local tax, VAT or GST is something we absorb out of our own share, instead of bolting it onto you at the last second. The number you say yes to is the number that leaves your account. Nothing appears at the end that was not there at the start. In many countries we also localise the price so it is lower, set for what people actually earn where they live, rather than one flat Western number.

That sounds like a small thing. It is not.

The job search is already a tax on people

Looking for work taxes your time, your confidence and very often your wallet, at the exact moment you can least afford it. Some platforms charge you to apply. Some charge you for every resume review. Some make you pay just to see who is hiring. Add a surprise charge at checkout on top of all that, and you have taken a little more from someone at one of the most financially fragile points in their life. We did not want to build on top of that.

How an industry treats people while they are job hunting says almost everything about that industry. The legal world can do better than surprise fees and pay-to-apply walls.

What is free, with no catch

  • Browse and search every role.
  • Read the full job description. We do not hide the job behind a paywall to make you pay just to find out what it is.
  • Save the roles you like and set up alerts for new ones.

You can browse legal jobs and internships right now without paying anything, and without even creating an account.

What membership covers, with nothing added on

  • Apply to every legal job and internship. Unlimited. We do not charge you per application.
  • Unlimited human CV reviews, as many as you need, one at a time. A real person, not a template and not a bot, builds or tailors your CV for the job you want, usually within about three days.
  • A company watchlist. Pick the employers you care about and we email you the moment they post something new.

If it does not help you, we make it right

Membership comes with a 7-day satisfaction guarantee. If your first CV review is not useful, tell us within seven days of your first payment and we will either redo it for free or add equivalent free time to your membership, your choice. You can cancel anytime from your settings, and cancelling stops every future charge. We also do not scrape other job boards or pad the site with duplicate listings to look bigger than we are. Every listing is reviewed before it goes live.

Why we are saying this out loud

We are not writing this because we have everything figured out. We are a young platform with a long way to go. We are writing it because transparency should be the default in an industry that too often hides its costs, and because the people using LegalAlphabet deserve to know exactly what they are paying for and exactly what they are not.

The price you see is the price you pay. That is the whole promise. If you ever find a charge you were not shown, tell us and we will fix it. You can see everything membership includes on a single page, with the price in plain sight.

Pricing and features described here are current at the time of writing and may change over time. Local pricing and any applicable taxes are handled by our payment provider at checkout, and the total shown to you before you confirm is the amount you pay.
