You Decide Who Sees You: Privacy on LegalAlphabet

Your profile is private by default, you choose if and when employers can see you, and we run no ads. Here is how privacy works on LegalAlphabet.

On this page

For a lawyer, a job search can be career-sensitive, especially if you are employed. So on LegalAlphabet, visibility is something you control, not something that happens to you.

Private by default

Your profile is not public unless you choose to make it so. Signing up does not put your name in front of employers or search engines. The default is off.

You choose your visibility

When you are ready, you decide how visible you want to be, from fully private, to discoverable by verified employers, to a public "hire me" profile. You can change it any time, and turn it back off any time.

Employers do not get your identity until you engage

In our talent discovery tools, employers browse skills and experience with your identity and contact details masked. They cannot see who you are or reach you directly until you choose to respond. Your current employer will not stumble across you applying elsewhere.

Your contact details are yours

We do not hand your email or phone to employers behind your back. Contact happens on your terms.

We could run ads. We choose not to.

We have Google AdSense approval, so we could switch on ads and start earning from them tomorrow. We have chosen not to. A job search is stressful enough without ads following you around the page, and ad scripts slow a site down and track you across the web. So LegalAlphabet runs no ads. We would rather earn from members who find us genuinely useful. If that ever changes, we will tell you plainly and give you control.

Your data, your control

You can edit your profile, change your visibility, cancel your membership, or email us to ask what we hold, any time, at contact@legalalphabet.com. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy, in plain language.

Frequently asked questions

Is my profile public when I sign up?

No. It is private by default. You choose if and when to become visible.

Can my current employer see I am job hunting?

Not unless you make yourself public. Talent discovery masks your identity until you choose to respond.

Does LegalAlphabet show ads?

No. We hold Google AdSense approval but choose not to run ads, for a cleaner, faster, more private experience.
