Job Description

Baker McKenzie Caracas is hiring a Energy & Projects Counsel based in Caracas, Venezuela. Advise energy, oil & gas and infrastructure clients on contracts and regulation.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on the Ley Organica de Hidrocarburos and sector regulation
  • Negotiate operating, service and EPC contracts
  • Advise foreign operators and oil-services companies
  • Manage regulatory filings and approvals

Requirements

  • Licenciatura en Derecho from an accredited Venezuelan university.
  • Admission as an abogado (registered with a Colegio de Abogados and INPREABOGADO).
  • 5+ years in energy/projects
  • English essential; technical-contracts experience
