Seeking MSW or Master's Level Counseling program students to obtain educational goals while learning on the job as a paid Intern.

Mission Statement

Creating positive growth opportunities by implementing programs that empower youth and strengthen families while improving community safety through the use of evidence-based practices.

What We Do

The Pinal County Department of Juvenile Court Services provides youth, victims and families with the resources and tools for achieving success through seamless solution-based continuum of care.  We provide public safety under the jurisdiction of the Superior Court and redirect juveniles to become more accountable for their actions.

The Juvenile Court Services Intern supports a therapeutic team approach in the care and treatment of Court involved youth and families and serves as a liaison among Dependency, Juvenile Probation, Juvenile Detention, and related court programs. Under supervision, the Juvenile Court Services Intern may support mental health or behavioral assistance in an individual, group and family dynamic in a detention or outpatient setting in the community. In addition to behavioral health focused services, the intern may also assist with activities connected to dependency court programs.

The individual in this role will contribute as an active member of interdisciplinary teams working to support youth and families and provide meaningful, lasting change. The intern will collaborate with staff from various disciplines regarding the on-going needs of youth and their families in both community and detention settings. Responsibilities may include facilitating engagement in services, reinforcing treatment plan objectives, supporting skill-building efforts, and assisting families in navigating court-related programs and expectations.

We envision a future where all youth are connected to the community, contributing members of society, and accountable for their behavior. Pinal County Juvenile Court Services employs excellent professional staff, including experienced Clinical Supervisors who can provide supervision and support for students.
