The State Street Investment Management Legal Department endeavors to provide strategic advice and counsel to its business and control colleagues in accordance with the highest standards of judgment, integrity and ethical leadership. We partner closely with these teams to find strategic solutions for our clients and contribute to the overall success of the firm. 

We are seeking an Assistant Vice President, Paralegal with the ability to excel in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and help others on the team to do the same. In the role of Paralegal you will be part of a team responsible for supporting State Street Investment Management’s Legal Department, including the product, trading, and client contracting Legal teams.

To be successful, you will develop an understanding of the firm’s investment and operational capabilities, service offerings, culture and vision, and regulatory and supervisory landscape. You will need to build and maintain collaborative relationships with lawyers on the team as well as investment, product, client service and operations professionals.

What you will be responsible for

As an Assistant Vice President, Paralegal, you will provide administrative support to lawyers in the State Street Investment Management Legal Department responsible for investment funds, investments and trading.

This will include:

  • Assisting attorneys with fund-related matters, including reviewing investment documentation

  • Assisting with the review and negotiation of service provider agreements across all aspects of State Street Investment Management’s business

  • Conducting legal research related to new or innovative products under attorney supervision

  • Assisting with special projects

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-7 years of experience in investment management

  • Paralegal experience at a law firm is preferred, but not required

  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials

Salary Range:

$70,000 - $130,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
