This fully remote role offers the opportunity to manage complex disputes within the automotive claims and total loss lifecycle.
You’ll focus on vehicle relocation, towing, storage, repair facility, and lien-related matters, driving timely and cost-effective resolutions.
Working across Claims, Salvage, Finance, Legal, and external partners, you’ll play a key role in reducing financial exposure while supporting strong customer outcomes.
The position combines investigation, negotiation, financial analysis, litigation coordination, and relationship management.
You’ll have the opportunity to influence vendors, challenge unnecessary costs, and develop practical strategies for resolving complex files.
Success in this role requires sound judgment, strong communication, and the ability to balance business, legal, operational, and customer considerations.
It is an impactful opportunity for an experienced claims professional to contribute to continuous improvement and stronger claims outcomes.

Accountabilities:

    • Review and assess RSLA referrals, ensuring all required information is available before beginning resolution activities.
    • Investigate disputes involving vehicle relocation, towing, storage, repair facilities, and related charges.
    • Negotiate directly with tow yards, storage providers, repair shops, legal representatives, and other external stakeholders to achieve timely and cost-effective outcomes.
    • Develop resolution strategies that balance customer outcomes, legislative requirements, financial exposure, and business objectives.
    • Analyze towing, storage, and related expenses to identify cost-mitigation opportunities and challenge unnecessary charges.
    • Conduct cost-benefit assessments and provide recommendations for appropriate dispute resolution strategies.
    • Escalate complex or high-risk matters for management review, supported by clear financial and analytical rationale.
    • Coordinate litigation-related activities and support Payment into Court processes when negotiations are unsuccessful.
    • Prepare documentation for legal review and court proceedings and collaborate with internal and external legal partners on litigated files.
    • Track recovery opportunities and ensure return-of-funds transactions are handled appropriately.
    • Maintain accurate claim documentation, negotiation histories, decisions, and supporting rationale within applicable systems.
    • Partner with Total Loss, Salvage, Finance, Legal, and Claims teams to align on file strategy and resolution approaches.
    • Provide guidance and technical expertise on RSLA legislation, towing practices, storage disputes, and related processes.
    • Monitor trends involving recurring vendors, repair facilities, disputes, and litigation outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Support reporting, governance, process optimization, and the implementation of improved operating practices.
    • Requirements:

      • Professional experience in claims handling, preferably within Auto Claims, Total Loss, Subrogation, Salvage, Recovery, or Litigation.
      • Strong negotiation, dispute-resolution, and conflict-management skills, with the ability to influence external stakeholders toward favorable outcomes.
      • Ability to analyze financial exposure, assess costs and benefits, and make sound recommendations based on data.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when documenting complex files and communicating with legal and business stakeholders.
      • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex priorities in a fast-paced environment.
      • Knowledge of the Repair and Storage Liens Act (RSLA) and vehicle relocation processes is preferred.
      • Experience working with legal counsel, court processes, Payment into Court, or litigation management is an asset.
      • Background in Total Loss, Salvage, Subrogation, Recovery, or related claims disciplines is advantageous.
      • Advanced analytical, reporting, and problem-solving capabilities are a plus.
      • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate documentation and decision records.
      • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and build productive relationships with internal and external partners.
      • Sound judgment and the ability to balance legislative compliance, financial considerations, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes.
      • Benefits:

        • Fully remote position within Canada, with eligibility across Ontario, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Alberta, and other supported Canadian locations.
        • Expected annual compensation range of $59,900–$93,725 CAD, with the actual offer based on relevant skills and experience.
        • Opportunity to work in a role combining claims expertise, negotiation, litigation, and financial analysis.
        • Exposure to cross-functional collaboration with Claims, Legal, Finance, Salvage, and external partners.
        • Opportunities to contribute to process improvement, operational efficiency, and future-state claims practices.
        • Professional environment focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and meaningful customer outcomes.
