Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

The Director Compliance and Ethics will partner with the Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer and other members of the global Compliance & Ethics team regarding the design, coordination, implementation and administration of the global compliance and ethics (C&E) programs/policies/practices. This role serves as a key strategic partner to regional and business leadership, fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and speak up across all levels of the organization.

This position will:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on compliance risks, emerging trends, and mitigation strategies
  • Ensure alignment with global policies, including the Business Conduct Manual, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Monitor laws, industry best practices, and regulatory changes impacting the company's business
  • Develop/execute global ethics training and awareness initiatives in their assigned region.
  • Prepare C&E reports and findings for the Chief Compliance Officer and C&E Committees
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize regional compliance risks, including ABAC, AML, fraud, and workplace conduct
  • Lead/supervise investigations concerning compliance with Goodyear global policies/practices/procedures and local laws/regulations, and partner with other investigative teams to assess findings and determine appropriate remediation and disciplinary actions
  • Work collaboratively with other corporate functions (Risk Management, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Finance, Controller, Import/Export, Security, etc.) to facilitate comprehensive coverage and drive a culture that acts with honesty, integrity and respect
  • Work with other Global/Regional Directors to deploy global C&E practices/initiatives.
  • Oversee the work of C&E Managers, Sr. Managers, and Leads (or other reporting associates as the needs of the department evolve) and assist with their career/talent development.
  • Provide compliance training sessions to associates and third parties. 
  • Monitor the handling of privacy breaches in respected region. Conduct internal investigations and monitor/oversee assigned region's investigations.

Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities Required:

  • Solid experience in legal and/or compliance (including significant involvement in the design, implementation or administration of corporate C&E programs or conducting white collar/corporate investigations gained through a major law/accounting firm or multinational corporation)
  • Experience in international operations

Experience, Education & Certification

  • Maturity, judgment, discernment and self-confidence - Able to build relationships across organization (including senior management and external contacts)
  • Strong people and leadership skills, together with the ability to influence others with tact and diplomacy
  • Strong people management and talent development skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English in business terms to a wide-range of audiences and comfortable with public speaking/presentations
  • Strong legal technical knowledge in conducting internal investigations
