We are currently seeking a Lawyer & Record Retention Analyst to join our Legal team. This role is responsible for design, implement, and oversee the corporate record retention program for documents and files, ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations, as well as the proper lifecycle management of the organization’s physical and electronic records for NMEX And NRFM.
A day in the life of this role:
- Develop and implement corporate policies and procedures for the retention and disposition of records, files, and documents.
- Monitor compliance with local and international regulations, as well as internal guidelines related to document management.
- Coordinate with key areas (Legal, Finance, Audit, Operations, IT, etc.) to ensure proper classification, safeguarding, and disposition of files, information, and documents.
- Manage audits related to record retention and provide timely responses to regulatory requests.
- Administer technological tools for the control and traceability of records, files, and documents.
- Train and raise awareness among employees regarding best practices in document retention.
- Evaluate and continuously improve processes to optimize storage costs and reduce risks associated with improper record retention.
- Administer technological tools and digital platforms for the control, traceability, and management of records, files, documents, and presentation materials.
Who We’re Looking for:
Mandatory Requirements:
- Licensed attorney or in process of obtaining bar admission.
- 1-2 years of experience in contract review, legal research, and corporate matters.
Exposure to document organization, custody, and retention practices.
Experience supporting internal stakeholders in legal and document-related queries. - Legal research and analysis.
- Contract drafting and review.
- Document classification, retention, and disposal in accordance with legal/regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of document lifecycle management (creation, storage, retention, destruction).
- Knowledge of applicable laws (e.g., data protection, commercial, financial regulations).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- High attention to detail (especially in document classification and retention accuracy).
- Strong organizational skills to manage large volumes of records.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- High sense of confidentiality and ethical responsibility in handling sensitive documents.
- Travel Required: 10%
- Advanced English level (minimum 500 TOEIC points). Ability to draft legal and document retention policies, reports, and communications in English.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience in regulated industries (financial services, automotive, insurance).
Exposure to records retention programs, document lifecycle management, or архивal compliance. - Experience responding to audits, regulatory requests, or litigation holds (document preservation)
- Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems.
- Understanding of audit trails and document traceability.
- Flexibility to support audits, document reviews, or physical file validations across locations.
- Ability to review, and translate legal documents, policies, and retention schedules.
