Job Description



Minimum QualificationsAcceptable Experience and Education
Doctor of Jurisprudence. 

Certificates and Licenses Required 
Must have and maintain a license to practice law in the State of Texas and be in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.  
 
For Public Defender’s Office and Domestic Relations Office Only: a candidate with a Supervised Practice Card may be considered for this Trial Attorney position under the Rules Governing the Supervised Practice of Law by Qualified Law Students and Qualified Unlicensed Law School Graduates in Texas as passed by the Supreme Court of Texas in 2020. These candidates must obtain their Texas State Bar license after passing the bar exam in order to qualify for continued employment. 
 
 
Depending on area assigned: Must have or obtain by date of hire a valid driver's license applicable to job responsibilities, with a driving record acceptable to the County of El Paso.
