This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Project Manager - Cloud & Compliance Advisory based in the United States.
The Senior Project Manager will lead complex, client-facing initiatives across cloud, compliance advisory, and cloud operations environments.
You will own projects end to end, guiding engagements from initiation and planning through implementation and deployment.
Working across matrixed teams, you will align technology, operational, and business priorities while keeping projects on scope, schedule, and budget.
The role involves close collaboration with clients, consultants, delivery teams, executives, and other key stakeholders.
You will proactively manage risks, dependencies, escalations, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
This is a highly autonomous role suited to an experienced project leader who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic professional services environment.
You will also contribute to project governance, quality standards, process improvements, and exceptional customer experiences.
Accountabilities
- Own the full lifecycle of multiple projects and initiatives, from initiation and planning through implementation and deployment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal delivery teams throughout project engagements.
- Develop detailed project plans covering scope, timelines, resources, milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and key phases.
- Partner with resource management teams to secure the appropriate personnel and capabilities required to meet project objectives.
- Collaborate closely with consultants and delivery teams to manage day-to-day project activities, scope, budgets, timelines, resources, and change management.
- Align technology, operational, and business requirements using established project management methodologies and best practices.
- Proactively manage project expectations, risks, issues, conflicts, dependencies, and action items, escalating matters when necessary and driving them through resolution.
- Monitor project performance and provide clear internal and client-facing status reporting covering milestones, deliverables, risks, issues, dependencies, and overall progress.
- Develop and deliver requirements documentation, presentations, progress reports, and other communications tailored to project teams, sponsors, executives, and key stakeholders.
- Prepare for and lead client and internal meetings, including weekly status meetings, steering committees, executive reviews, daily standups, advisory meetings, and other project sessions.
- Lead matrixed teams and drive accountability across internal and external stakeholders to ensure commitments and deliverables are achieved.
- Ensure projects adhere to established quality standards, methodologies, and governance requirements.
- Provide feedback that supports process improvements and the evolution of project delivery practices.
- Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, delegating responsibilities appropriately and maintaining strong customer service throughout delivery.
- Maintain expected billable utilization targets and support other responsibilities as assigned.
- Travel for client or internal engagements as needed, up to approximately 20%.
- At least 7 years of direct, client-facing project management experience; internal-only project management experience does not substitute for this requirement.
- At least 5 years of experience working with business stakeholders in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated success managing large clients, complex projects, and interactions with executive-level stakeholders.
- Strong customer service skills and a proven ability to build productive, trusted client relationships.
- Demonstrated knowledge of both waterfall and agile project management methodologies.
- Excellent written, verbal, client-facing, and internal communication skills.
- Proven leadership capabilities, including ownership of project outcomes and consistent delivery against commitments.
- Ability to structure and lead cross-functional teams and stakeholders throughout the complete project lifecycle.
- Strong self-management skills and the ability to operate independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and project management tools; experience with Smartsheet, Jira, and OpenAir is desirable.
- PMP, CSM, PgMP, or another relevant project management certification.
- Working knowledge of at least one relevant compliance framework, such as FedRAMP, DoD, CMMC, ISO, SOC, or HITRUST.
- Bachelor’s degree, or an associate degree combined with equivalent experience, in project management, business administration, or a related field.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to client contractual requirements.
- Ability to provide full-time support to delivery teams based in the United States.
- Preferred: 2+ years of client-facing experience in professional services.
- Preferred: Experience facilitating sprint planning sessions, daily standups, and retrospectives.
- Annual salary range of $89,000–$149,000, with actual compensation based on experience, education, location, certifications, and other job-related factors.
