Job Description

Position Summary...

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Sanctions compliance, the Director, Specialty Compliance and Ethics leads the sanctions program governance and supports the development and execution of program strategy. This includes Policy/Standard/Procedures oversight, new business initiatives, emerging risks and product/program reviews (e.g., gap identification, issue remediation), control monitoring and testing (e.g., performance metrics), training content strategy, international market program coordination/support, financial service principals oversight for sanctions matters and cross functional initiatives/support.

About the team:
The Global Sanctions Compliance team ensures Walmart’s adherence to sanctions laws by defining and implementing risk-based policies, standards, and controls. Collaborating closely with technology, business, and market teams, the group integrates compliance into core operations to prevent engagement with restricted parties and regions. This team plays a critical role in safeguarding Walmart from regulatory risks while supporting compliant business growth. Their work includes policy development, third party screening, risk analysis, training, and continuous improvement to maintain effective governance and compliance across the enterprise.

What you'll do...


 

  • Lead the creation and maintenance of policies, procedures, and governance of technological solutions to manage compliance risks effectively.

  • Evaluate compliance program performance, conduct gap analyses, and ensure organizational alignment across multiple international markets and businesses.

  • Review new business initiatives for adherence to sanctions requirements and escalating emerging risks identified.

  • Led the program's strategy for monitoring and testing and define/execute the program's training content strategy

  • Provide international market program coordination/support; support sanctions support to the Financial Services Compliance team. 

  • Oversees high risk monitoring initiatives program reporting metrics, and Quality Assurance over dispositioning processes.


What you'll bring...

  • Extensive experience in compliance risk management, internal controls, and governance strategy within complex regulatory environments.

  • Proven ability to design and implement compliance programs, including policies and standards, training strategy and monitoring initiatives aligned with business objectives.

  • Strong skills in conducting gap analyses, control definition, risk mapping and mitigation, and developing standard operating procedures.

  • Demonstrated leadership in collaborating with senior management and cross-functional teams to communicate and execute compliance strategies.

  • Ability to analyze key performance metrics and lead organizational alignment on governance and compliance initiatives.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 5 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area. 3 years’ supervisory experience. 4 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.
