Job Description

Join the team that keeps Boise’s essential infrastructure working every day. This hands-on role performs skilled construction, maintenance, and repair work across wastewater, geothermal, irrigation, and stormwater systems, as well as asphalt, concrete, and facility infrastructure. You’ll also help locate and protect buried utilities and operate heavy construction equipment in the field. Work is performed under direct supervision with opportunities to grow technical skills across multiple trades.

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience working in the construction trade with experience working on water and wastewater systems, geothermal and irrigation systems.
Licensing And Other Requirements
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain the following within six months of employment; State of Idaho Wastewater Collection Operator Class I license or Operator-In-Training (OIT) license; Class A Commercial Driver's License; erosion control certificate; and a flagger certificate.
Special Requirements
Applicants must be able to pass:
  • City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation
  • Driving Record Check
  • Drug Free Workplace: In accordance with the City of Boise Drug Free Workplace Regulation, this position is designated as safety sensitive and is subject to testing requirements including Post Offer Applicant Testing, Random Testing, Reasonable Suspicion, Post - Accident, etc. Applicants will be required to submit to screening for illegal drug use prior to hire. Appointment to this position is contingent upon a negative pre-employment drug test.
