To become a lawyer (avocat) in Tunisia, first earn a law degree (Maitrise or Master en droit, generally at least four years of study). You then pass the competitive entrance examination to the Institut Superieur de la Profession d'Avocat (ISPA) and complete its training (one year for Master holders, up to two otherwise), leading to the Certificat d'Aptitude a la Profession d'Avocat (CAPA). Next you complete a mandatory supervised internship (stage); under the organic law on the profession this runs about two years and may be extended, served under an established supervising attorney (maitre de stage). Finally, after validation of your training, you take an oath and register with the Ordre National des Avocats de Tunisie (ONAT), the mandatory national bar, to practise.
