This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Legal Content Development Associate based in Canada.

As a Legal Content Development Associate, you will apply your legal expertise to the development and management of authoritative legal publications. You will work closely with legal authors and internal teams to ensure content is accurate, consistent, and delivered on schedule. The role combines legal analysis, editorial judgment, project coordination, and relationship management. You will oversee a portfolio of publications distributed through online and print channels, supporting legal professionals across Canada. Your work will contribute to maintaining high-quality legal resources and advancing access to reliable legal knowledge. This is a fully remote opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional who is comfortable working collaboratively and incorporating AI tools into modern content workflows.

Accountabilities:

    • Manage an assigned portfolio of legal publications across online and print formats, ensuring content is developed and delivered according to established schedules.
    • Coordinate with authors and contributors to secure manuscripts and other materials on time and maintain publishing timelines.
    • Review submitted manuscripts against established author guidelines, identify issues, and provide constructive feedback to authors.
    • Recruit new authors and coordinate author replacements to maintain the quality and continuity of publications within the assigned portfolio.
    • Build and maintain strong professional relationships across the Canadian legal community, including practitioners, academics, members of the judiciary, librarians, and other external contributors.
    • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for authors and internal departments regarding publications within the assigned portfolio.
    • Coordinate cross-functional activities to keep editorial and publication projects progressing efficiently.
    • Apply legal knowledge and analytical judgment to support the quality, accuracy, relevance, and consistency of published content.
    • Use AI-enabled tools and large language models as part of day-to-day content development and analysis workflows, applying effective prompting and review practices to improve quality and consistency.
    • Manage multiple projects and publication deadlines simultaneously across print, digital, and newsletter channels.
    • Requirements:

      • Canadian law degree (JD/LLB) or a law degree from another jurisdiction accompanied by a Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA).
      • At least 1 year of legal practice, articling, or legal publishing experience.
      • Strong legal research, analytical, editorial, and content-review skills.
      • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
      • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
      • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external legal professionals.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear and constructive feedback.
      • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
      • Demonstrated hands-on experience using LLMs and AI-enabled tools as part of regular professional workflows, particularly for content development, research, analysis, and quality improvement.
      • Ability to write effective prompts, iterate outputs, and critically review AI-generated content for accuracy, relevance, and consistency.
      • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office.
      • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong communication, organization, and accountability.
      • Benefits:

        • Canada-wide base salary range of CAD $59,100–$98,400 per year.
        • Geographic differentials may apply depending on location and local market conditions.
        • Fully remote, home-based work opportunity with flexible working hours.
        • Medical, dental, and vision benefits.
        • Country-specific wellbeing and employee support benefits.
        • Shared parental leave.
        • Study assistance and opportunities for continued learning.
        • Sabbatical opportunities.
        • Programs and initiatives designed to support health, wellbeing, and work-life balance.
        • Opportunity to work at the intersection of legal expertise, publishing, technology, and AI.
        • Inclusive and accessible work environment with accommodations available throughout the hiring process.
        • Equal opportunity employment with consideration for qualified applicants regardless of legally protected characteristics.
